The script can help by embedding clear performance cues—pacing notes, intensity markers, or even brief parenthetical directions—without turning the page into a novel. Character vocabulary and contractions should stay consistent across episodes so the same voice model (or the same actor) does not drift.

Cultural register matters as much as syllable count. A line that lands as sharp and contemporary in one market can sound stiff or overly formal in another. Adapters who understand both the source drama’s emotional logic and the target audience’s conversational norms produce dialogue that feels spoken rather than translated.
